OZ's ace pilot, AKA the Lightning Baron (later, Count). He possesses a great aptitude for Mobile Suit piloting, as well as a calm decision-making style that earns him trust from Treize Khushrenada, Commander of OZ. He also exhibits great leadership that earns him solid trust from his men. He always hides his face behind a mask. His true identity is Milliardo Peacecraft, prince of the Sanc Kingdom, a country that advocated pacifism and was subsequently destroyed by the United Earth Sphere Alliance. Zechs insinuated himself into the Alliance in order to avenge his fallen land, and he achieved great distinction among the elite of OZ. His vengeance was fulfilled when OZ launched their coup d'etat, and the Sanc Kingdom was liberated from its previous occupation.
