He was originally involved with the development of the Zudah as a Zimmad test pilot, but he was humiliated when the Zudah was defeated in competition by Zeonic's Zaku I.
He decided to clear the Zudah's name, and took on an assignment with the 603rd Technical Evaluation Unit because of his passionate belief in the machine he had helped to develop and test.
