He was an excellent tank soldier and instructor, but when trends shifted to the mobile suit, he failed the MS aptitude test and fell into despair.
He was later assigned to the 603rd Technical Evaluation Unit to operate the Hildolfr, and although the test was a complete sham, he believed it was his chance for a comeback.
