Commander of the ace unit known as the Chimaira Corps, which reports directly to Kycilia Zabi, the commander of Zeon's Armored Assault Force. He is also known as the "Crimson Lightning."
In a sea of uptight Zeon soldiers, he is a bright and happy character who enjoys popularity among the people and is trusted by his fellow Chimaira Corps members.
Because his personal mobile suits have a similar coloring to those of the ace pilot Char Aznable, the "Red Comet," his machines are often mistaken for Char's on the battlefield.
